The famed battle of Monmouth during the Revolutionary War played a pivotal role in boosting the shaky confidence of the northern Continental Army under then General George Washington. A large portion of the battle was found on the ground that now makes up Manalapan, New Jersey.
Today this history is celebrated by the people of Manalapan is remembered in historic monuments, as well as documents kept in the Monmouth County Library. Manalapan also has an annual festival called Under The Stars, which features live music, rides, games, and public entertainment. In 2004 Manalapan was rated “The Second Hottest Town on the East Coast” by Money Magazine.
